ARTISTS STATEMENT
Impermanence - Change - Transformation...
...are the keywords for my work. What is permanent, you might ask yourself? Nothing, really.
I am exploring transformation of material, as well as the personal and collective transformations we are experiencing today. I am looking inward, expressing my hopes and fears, and outward, observing the world in its complexity.
I deconstruct fragments of the past (vintage ceramics and hand-painted porcelain) to reconstruct them in a new, contemporary way.
Impermanence, change. The ultimate paradox is that the only thing that is permanent is change. Since change is occurring in a greater frequency and intensity, we must embrace change. It forces us to grow, to evolve and to transform our lives and our planet. |
