ARTISTS STATEMENT "For me, art has diverse forms. I am branching out in different directions, exploring concepts and ideas that complement and feed each other. My work reveals an affinity to experimentation with a vast range of materials and media, as well as my love for books and printing. About twelve years ago I became involved in bookmaking which literally opened up another chapter."
Hanne Niederhausen has exhibited widely in national and international juried competitions, as well as in solo and group exhibitions in the US and Europe. Her work received numerous awards. It is represented in museum and private collections around the world. Her artist books are held in many Special Collections of University Libraries and have been published in "500 Handmade Books" (2008 and 2013) by Lark Books, as well as in "1,000 Artists Books" (2012) by Quayside Publishing.
Her art is a response to various places that she has lived in or encountered on her extensive travels, and reflects her interest in other cultures. She grew up in Germany and is now, via many detours, living and working in Boca Raton. She holds a MA from the Pädagogische Hochschule in Karlsruhe, studied art in Canada, Arizona and Florida where she received a BFA from Florida Atlantic University.
